Finally… A new look!

I’m back! Sorry about the downtime; I’ve been working on the new digs. I thought I would get all fancy, and design a new website. But, once I got started, I messed all kinds of things up. Silly me, I thought I knew all this css and php crap. Like my granddaddy always said, “don’t mop yourself in a corner.” Actually, I think his other saying, “don’t write a check your a$$ cain’ t cash”, is more appropriate.

I still have a lot more to do, but geez, I missed you all. I started missing the excitement of seeing comments come in. So, tell me what you think of the new website.

Before I go, let me explain some of the new features.

Starting on the right…

Latest Post: Is what it says it is- the latest post. Every time I write something new, it will go here.

Featured Post: This part will contain posts that I want to keep around just a little bit longer. Like, the giveaways. That way, they are easily accessible.

Asides: These are little snippets. Twitteresque things, if you will. Sometimes I think of something, or read something online, and I want to share it with you guys without necessarily having to write a post. Random crap, that I just have to tell SOMEONE, and my husband will be glad that he isn’t always that someone.

Moving on to the next column…

Recent Posts: These are the current last posts, excluding the Latest and Featured posts. Once a post gets bumped out of here, it joins the post graveyard over in Archives.

When you have a post opened up, you will notice a few extra features, like “email this post”, and “print this post”. I added these on… well, I don’t know why. I couldn’t think of a reason why not to, so there they are.

There’s a lot more that needs to be done, and I will get to it in due time. Until then, some links may lead to nothing, much like stairs led to the ceilings in the Winchester mystery mansion. But, here I am, back in my little corner of the blogosphere.

And just to make up for my absence to you all, I’m gonna throw in an extra giveaway on Monday. Feel the love people, feel the love. I would just like to take a moment, to give a shout out to caffeine and white chocolate macademia cookies, who gave so much of themselves to support me through the stressful period of implementing the new theme. I think next time though, to deal with the stress, I am going to have to go all Ellen Degeneres. No, not become a lesbian. (I think I just heard the dismayed sighing of my husband because of that last sentence.) No, I’m going to have to get this chair, because, well, my butt needs to MOVE.
